Can you please add support for logging to syslog?

I’ve patched it for the Alpine Linux package (patch), but this is only intended as a short-term hack.

Hi @jirutka , what would you expect of a definitive implementation that your patch doesn't implement already? Your patch looks fine to me, if you propose it as a PR it will be merged.
